The General Process 


Where servicing and inspection of fixed or mobile equipment maintenance is performed.



Model Development


Models need to be developed, made active and published to register a work order to perform the PM Service

The model needs to be built based on

    • Site strategy

    • OEM information

    • Machine configuration

    • Personnel involved

    • ZoneMaintenance methodology

Content writer needs to be experienced and have access to this information and knowledge of the ZM model development process.




The Schedule




Scheduler registers the services from the plan CMMS

Manual registration or CSV Upload.





Assigning the Job





Supervisor assigns the service work order to the service team.

Instructs which person on the team is going to play which role on the service.

This is a verbal conversation with the individuals.

Execute the Job



Individuals assigned to the service log into the iPad.

Select the work order and the role and perform the service.


Inspector/Mechanic/Tradesperson

  • Responsible for defect identification
  • Risk rating a defect
  • Review previously reported defects and change its status if rectified

Servicemen/Technicians/Non Tradesperson

  • Responsible for oil and filter changes
  • Greasing machine

A supervisor must monitor service progress and captured defects during the service execution process

Job Completion



Supervisor responsible to understand job status.

  • If completed, they should QA Check, discuss/evaluate defects and make a decision to send machine to work or keep for defect rectification
  • Change the status of a “Stopped” Service to the next status to close the service process for that service
  • Upload Service report to CMMS

Job Analysis




Supervisor to review defects, times taken, impacts to the service and note reported in the service.

Supervisor should look at what caused delays/impacts and determine where improvements can be made.

Supervisor to review any feedback assigned to them from the team and take action or assign to person that can address the reported feedback.

Asset Analysis



Reliability can review the data collected to understand the asset condition from the services performed.

Trending data could be evaluated to see if there are changes required with the trigger points or to see if there is an asset that is showing a different trend to the others.

Review defects and look at the different reports to make informed strategies towards future improvements or focused areas based on captured data.
